My first ever ATC

Hello everyone :)

Do you have something what you always want to try but for some reason you 

always thought that you were not good enough and scared to even try?

For me it was mixed media.

It took me a long time to finally sit and properly check what its all about ;)

I used a mask/stencil before and did some tiny splashes

but never really put myself "there" because I always thought I'm not good enough.

Last weekend I made my first ever ATC using mixed media techniques from start to finish.

Gesso, gel mediums, modeling paste, sprays, inks, stamping, 

stencil, art stones, glass glitter, micro beads, metal embellishment... you name it...

I've tried it all. 

For half a day I was checking mediums... 

what they do, how they behave when they dry naturally and with a heat gun,

what the difference between gesso and gel is (matte & gloss), 

what kind of finish I could get with each of them

and how they absorb other mediums (sprays, inks etc.).

It was time consuming, however I learned a lot...

because watching tutorials on YouTube, as helpful as they are, is one thing 

but seeing things with my own eyes is completely different. 

From the beginning I knew that I would like to make something vintage

because I absolutely fell in love with this Wycinanka laser cut chipboard.

I primed my card, used a stencil to add a texture 

and stamped my background using black waterproof ink.

To get a vintage effect I used brown sprays and inks. 

To soften the image I used turquoise as well. 

I build colours layer by layer.

When I had my background ready I started to add embellishments...

cheesecloth, art stones, micro beads, glass glitter, laser cut chipboards

and metal elements.

I distressed the edges et voila :)

I have to admit... I loved every minute of creating this piece 

and I can understand why so many people love mixed media.

It is fun! 

So much so, that after this ATC I made 4 more :)

Shabby & delicate...

Hi everyone :)

Today I would like to share with you a cover I made for an album I'm working on lately

as in inspiration for Love to Craft & Create.

As a base I used papers from an absolutely beautiful collection by Craft & You Design 

Beautiful Day 6"x6" Paper Pad.

The colours are stunning and all of the collection is so delicate and feminine.

Ideal for shabby chic projects :)

I liked it so much that I decided to use it to make flowers...

and CraftPassion flower dies were perfect for that.

I used 2 different sets:

I finished my flowers with white pearl stamens and Prima gems.

I could not use laser cut chipboards... I'm a big fan of them :)...

... so I decorated my cover with one of the captions from TricksArt Magical time set 

and Vintage Cage with a Bird by Scrapiniec.

 

To decorate my flowers I cut out a few leaves from a strip by Studio75 - Alice's Dream 09  

and added some sequins.

Beautiful flowers...

Hello everyone!

Today I would like to share my new card with you.

To make it I used a few of the new products available at

Love to Craft & Create :)

I started with As if in a Dream RETRO paper pad - 01 and 05.

I stitched the edges. 

I used one of my favourite laser cut chipboards:

Boheme Borders by Wycinanka

and attached it to my card with a Magic Glue.

After that I shaped the circle using a green Decorative Twig 

and decorated it with new gorgeous fabric flowers (white & ivory) 

and a paper rose.

To finish my card I used Prima Art Stones and sequins .

Just scissors & papers :)

Hello everyone!

Today I would like to show you how to get from here...

... to here ;)

To make this card you don't need much! 

Just scrapbooking paper, glue, scissors, a needle, thread

and some grey chipboard to add dimension :)

No fancy tools, no complicated techniques... just your imagination!

To make this card I used Studio75 papers and cut out sheets from 5 different collections:

All of them are available in Love to Craft & Create

as a part of a set of 12"x12" pads or as single sheets.

I cut the elements out of every single sheet and start to play with them

to get the design/arrangement that I like. 

For a background I used 1 of the 24 papers from the 6"x6" Secret Garden collection.

I decided to stitch the edges to match the other elements I stitched already. 

I've done it by hand - no fancy tools ;)

I didn't want my card to be "flat" so I used pieces of grey chipboard to add some dimension

by attaching them underneath of some elements.

I hope you like my project. 

I need to admit I love those cut out sheets. 

I made this card but I can easily make a few more 

as plenty of cut out elements are left.

They are perfect not only for cards but for layouts as well.
